Angie Medema is Project Manager & Business Analyst. Angie directs all activities related to systems projects involving customers, distributors and third party back office systems providers to ensure on-time delivery of critical integrations and enhancements. Prior to joining DMA, Angie held a supply chain position in the HVAC industry where she developed the organizational and follow-up skills necessary to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction. Angie graduated from Walden University with a degree in Business Administration.

Bob Sala

Bob Sala is our Founder. Bob has nearly 30 years of experience in the foodservice industry. Prior to co-founding DMA in 1988, he was Senior Vice President, Marketing of ComSource (now UniPro) and its predecessor organization, North American Foodservice. Before entering the foodservice industry Bob held general management, sales and marketing management positions with Hershey Foods and Xerox Corporation. A part of its value proposition to the market, Bob has led the development and deployment of DMA's e-business initiative called e-Advantage. This order management, data analytics and inventory management system is owned by DMA and makes available a suite of services that helps chain operators manage and monitor their supply chain activities. In addition to the DMA Board, Bob serves on the Board of Directors of Amphire Solutions, the technology provider that powers e-Advantage. Active in the healthcare industry, he has been a member of the HFM Supplier Advisory Council. He is also a member of the Harper College Hospitality Advisory Board. In addition, he serves on the ID Magazine Editorial Advisory Board. Bob is a member of the International Foodservice Manufacturer Association (IFMA), where he has been a Co-Chairman of its Distributor Advisory Committee. He is a recipient of the associations Presidents Award and its Sparkplug Award recognizing his work to enhance trade relations between distributors, brokers and manufacturers. A native of the Chicago area, Bob holds an MBA from DePaul University.

Brent joined DMA in October, 2008. He is now one of our Vice Presidents of Customer Solutions.  He has an extensive background in foodservice distribution. After graduating from Western Michigan University in 1975, Brent began his career with Gordon Food Service, where he spent twenty four years in a progression of sales, marketing and management positions.  He then ventured out into business for himself, and gained a great deal of valuable character building experience.  Most recently he spent eight years with another DMA Member, the IJ Company in Knoxville, Tennessee. Brent and his family live in the Knoxville area.

Dan Cox is our President and Chief Executive Officer. Dan joined DMA in 2007 and has over thirty years of experience in the foodservice industry, beginning in the fast food industry. During his career, he has worked as both a franchised restaurant manager and a general manager in broadline distribution. Dan came to DMA from Shamrock Foods Company where he had been responsible for corporate national account sales and division procurement since 1999. As Shamrock's representative on DMA's Board of Directors, Dan has been an active member of the Executive Committee and is immediate past Chairman of our Board of Directors. Dan started his career with a national QSR franchise where he spent four years in various capacities, including Area Director for six restaurants. Dan began his sales career with Gordon Food Service, ultimately rising through the ranks to Branch Sales Manager in Fort Wayne, IN and Chicago, IL. He was also Vice President of Sales and Marketing for GFS Canada. After leaving GFS he was the President and General Manager of a distribution center in southern WI for a national distributor. A native of the Chicago area, Cox holds a BS degree in Business Management and Administration from Indiana University.

Jenisse Hernandez

Jenisse Hernandez is a Database Administrator. She joined DMA in 2006 and is responsible for maintaining intricate product and customer cross reference data, using business rules designed to achieve the highest possible levels of accuracy. Centralized mapping of customer GL codes is quickly becoming a DMA value added service. Jenisse works directly with many accounts to customize various data elements to meet their needs.


Jennifer Szatkowski

Jennifer Szatkowski is a Database Manager and joined DMA in 2004. Her responsibilities include management of a product cross reference application and database that includes over 420,000 distributor items mapped to 125,000 DMA items, 7000 brands and 6900 manufacturers. Jennifer has designed and documented business processes to ensure the highest degree of data accuracy. In addition, she is responsible for the administration of our web based data analytics application named On-Line Report Manager as well as other internal applications. Prior to joining DMA, she was a Capital Analyst for Alliant Foodservice, a $6.5 billion broadline distributor acquired by US Foodservice in October of 2001. Jennifer is a graduate of Columbia College of Missouri.



Jeri Wassong

Jeri Wassong joined DMA on October 16, 2013 and is the Director, Supply Chain Operations and Analysis. Prior to joining DMA, Jeri held a Sales Management position at Strive Logistics where she was responsible for recruiting, hiring and management of the Chicago-based sales team. While at Strive, Jeri was also awarded salesperson of the year, multiple years running. Jeri has an MBA from Walsh College of Business and a BSBA from Central Michigan University.


Jim Slattery

Jim is our Vice President, Contract Administration and has over thirty-five years of experience and has worked in both the broadline and systems distribution segments in the foodservice industry. Jim joined DMA in 1997 and has held the following positions at DMA over the course of his career:  VP National Accounts, VP Business Development, VP Customer Solutions and VP Pricing Administration before assuming his present position.

As VP of Contract Administration Jim is responsible for our customer distribution agreements and is responsible for a team of people that provide post-sale customer support.  In this capacity he has played a key role in developing standardized contract management processes to ensure high level execution of the service commitments in our agreements and accurate pricing execution. 

Jim began his career with the National Accounts division of The Martin-Brower Company where he held various sales and marketing positions. Jim has put together and managed distribution programs in the casual dining, quick service and hotel segments of the industry. He has also been instrumental in supporting the international development efforts of his customers. Jim has twice been recognized as Supplier of the Year for distribution programs that he has managed. He is also the holder of an outstanding service award from ARCOP, Arby's Purchasing Cooperative.

A native of the Chicago area, Jim holds an MBA in marketing from Loyola University of Chicago.

Jim Szatkowski is our Vice President of Data Management Services. Jim has overall responsibility for our technology infrastructure which includes order entry, data analytics, third party back office integrations, internal network and other applications critical to supporting our customers and distributors. An experienced sales executive and manager with over twenty years of experience in supply chain management, Jim is highly focused on building effective solutions to address customer needs. Prior to joining DMA, he was Director of National Accounts for Alliant Foodservice, a $6.5 billion broadline distributor acquired by US Foodservice in October of 2001.

Matt Kot is a National Account Coordinator and joined DMA in January 2014.  Matt delivers exceptional customer satisfaction on assigned accounts by coordinating the ongoing maintenance activities to make certain all aspects of the distribution programs are executed smoothly. Matt is a graduate of Columbia College and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing communications. Prior to joining DMA, Matt worked for 6 years at Central Baptist Village, a nursing home in Norridge, Illinois that provides independent living and assisted living services along with skilled nursing and rehabilitation care.  He held various positions during his time there which led up to his final role as the Dining Services Supervisor.

Matt Harvey is a National Accounts Manager. He joined DMA in 2011.

Matt communicates with the assigned accounts as needed to meet designated service levels and customer satisfaction goals as well as ensure contract compliance.  He coordinates efforts with Supply Chain Specialists assigned to the same customer accounts to ensure the account is properly serviced and issues are resolved to customer’s satisfaction.  He manages aspects of the assigned accounts which includes: producing and maintaining required internal and external reports as needed; support customer promotion and item transition planning setup; proactively analyze customer business for trends and opportunities for improvement; be available for onsite visits and/or attend regional meetings on an infrequent basis.

Nancy Willuweit joined DMA in January 2012 and is a Supply Chain Specialist. Nancy is a veteran of the foodservice distribution industry and brings over twenty five years of experience in both supply chain and national account management.  She held various roles in the national account division of the Martin-Brower Company and was an Account Representative for the I.J. Company (which is now a division of DMA member Reinhart FoodService).  Just prior to joining DMA; Nancy worked outside the foodservice industry for Spradling International Marine, a provider of global sourcing and supply chain services to the marine, RV, and aviation industries. Nancy is a graduate of Illinois State University and has a degree in Marketing.  She has also been a Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) during the course of her career.

Ralph Smith is the Senior Vice President of Business Development. Ralph joined DMA in 2005 and prior to that time he spent fourteen years with Hawkeye Foodservice Distribution, progressing through the organization as a DSR, District Sales Manager, and Director of National Accounts. Including his time with DMA and Hawkeye, Ralph has over twenty-five years of experience in the foodservice industry, ten years in operations and fifteen in distribution. Ralph has a BA in Business Administration and Economics from William Penn University.

Shane Doherty is one of our Vice Presidents of Business Development reporting directly to President/CEO, Dan Cox.

Shane joined DMA in September 2013.  Prior to DMA, he worked at VGM Club, Resorts & Gaming and VGM Client Rewards, a member services based group purchasing solutions provider, where he was the Vice President, Business Development.  While at VGM, he oversaw growth into expanded targeted market segments. 

Previously, Shane spent 8 years with Avendra, where he was Director, National Accounts. His role was in providing strategic solutions to golf and country clubs, upscale boutique lodging and tribal gaming in the areas of supply chain management, procurement assessment, analysis, and purchasing efficiencies throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.  Prior to working at Avendra, Shane worked in the clothing industry in business development and sales with lifestyle brands based in Orange County, California catering to golf and country clubs, better men’s specialty and retail.

Shane graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Retailing and Consumer Studies while minoring in Spanish and International Business.

Suzie McKeon is our Director, Marketing Services and Events. Suzie started with DMA in 1992. Suzie handles the coordination and planning of meetings, conferences and customer events.She is also responsible for marketing materials, website execution and satisfaction surveys. A native of the Chicago area, Suzie holds a BA from Roosevelt University and a Certified Meeting Professional certificate. She is a member of Womens Foodservice Forum, Meeting Professionals International (MPI); and the American Marketing Assocation. Suzie is also an active volunteer for several community groups in the Chicago area.

Tracy Kraft

Tracy Kraft is a Senior Program Account Manager. Tracy is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the tactical execution of distribution agreements including menu changes, promotions, contract pricing, satisfaction surveys, service level reports, standard and other ad hoc reporting needs. Tracy also assists the COO in defining and documenting key account management processes such as inventory management activities, and pricing execution. Tracy is a veteran of foodservice distribution with over 20 years of experience in managing customer relationships at local and national levels. She joined DMA in 1999.
